Jenny Dibden is Director Research Base, Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and Head of the Government Social Research Service. She has been a Civil Servant for 26 years. In the first and middle parts of her career she helped construct the current evidence base of the Department for Work and Pensions through major, multi-discipline evaluations of policies such as Jobseeker’s Allowance and the employment New Deals. Jenny has also developed the research programmes of three Agencies, been responsible for a number of official statistics and substantial programmes of analysis of performance against Agency and contractor targets. Subsequently Jenny has worked in a number of policy and operational roles. In September 2014 Jenny joined the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills as Director Research Base (a jobshare with Rebecca Endean, economist), a science policy role. Jenny has been joint then sole Head of the Government Social Research Service since April 2010.
